What to expect
How it works
The browser decodes each source, redraws its pixels at the original dimensions, and asks the canvas encoder for the chosen format. JPEG has no alpha channel, so the selected background is painted first. PNG uses lossless browser encoding and ignores the quality slider.
Know before using

- AVIF decoding and export depend on the current browser; the tool reports an error when that encoder is unavailable rather than silently returning another format.
- Only the decoded still image is carried forward. Animation, layers, camera metadata, color profiles, and quality already lost in the source are not recovered.
