What to expect
How it works
With the lock enabled, changing width recalculates height from the source ratio and changing height recalculates width. The browser resamples the complete image onto a canvas at the requested dimensions and encodes that canvas in the selected format. JPEG output fills transparent areas with white.
Know before using
Limits and edge cases
- Width and height must each be 1–12,000 pixels, and the output canvas must remain below 64 megapixels for safe in-tab processing.
- Enlarging a small source creates more pixels but cannot restore texture or sharpness that the source never contained; export also drops animation and metadata.
