How it works
A ratio preset calculates the largest centered rectangle of that shape that fits inside the source. The numeric controls can then refine its top-left origin and size. On export, the browser copies only those source pixels to a new canvas and encodes the canvas in the selected format.
Know before using
Limits and edge cases
- The crop must remain inside the source and use whole-number coordinates; this tool does not provide perspective correction, deskewing, or arbitrary polygon selections.
- Pixels outside the rectangle are absent from the download, and the new encoding does not retain animation, layers, or embedded metadata.

No. A 900 × 600 selection exports as 900 × 600 pixels. Use the image resizer afterward when the crop must also have different output dimensions.
