What to expect
How it works
The source is drawn around the center of a new canvas. Rotation changes the drawing coordinate system, and horizontal or vertical flip applies a negative scale on that axis. Quarter-turns create a canvas with swapped dimensions before the transformed pixels are encoded.
Know before using
Limits and edge cases
- Only right-angle rotations are available; this is not a deskew tool and cannot straighten a scan by 1° or correct lens perspective.
- The transformation is baked into a new still image rather than stored as editable orientation metadata, so metadata and animation are not retained.

What is the difference between horizontal and vertical flip?

No. The displayed pixels are redrawn in their transformed positions, so software that ignores EXIF orientation still sees the intended result.
